The Best Brunch Spots in Dallas
In the March 2012 issue of D Magazine, they published an article naming the Top Best Brunch Spots in Dallas. Anyone that lives in Dallas knows that brunching is quite the to-do. A lot of it about being seen, but for me, that’s honestly never been it. It’s really evolved over the years…

When I first moved back to Dallas post college, I brunched with friends to soak up the previous evenings alcohol and re-hash what happen the night before. It was always interesting to see who would start the group text, who would actually show up and what we would be wearing. We’d devour a few pieces of coffee cake, multiple mimosas, and discuss who made out with who while waiting for chicken and waffles.

Slowly (as in, over the process of 6 years), we matured and started brunching just to enjoy each others company and the food.

Now that I’m super mature I’m not normally too hungover on the weekends, I love trying new brunch spots with the hubs and friends. There’s really nothing better than a a mimosa or latte followed by french toast or eggs Benedict. Yes, I’m a major fat kid at heart. Anyway, after reading through the article, I decided that it makes absolute sense to visit every spot on the list even though I haven’t heard of 75% of them. So here’s the plan…
In the next 12 months I will eat at (and review):
- Malai Kitchen
- The Libertine
- Hattie’s
- Komali
- Restaurant Ava
- Dish
- Maximo
- Nick & Sam’s Grill
- Tillman’s Roadhouse
- Jasper’s
- Nosh Euro Bistro Plano
- Al Biernat’s
- Parigi
- Cane Rosso
- Blue Mesa Grill
- Toulouse Cafe and Bar
- The Grape
- Meddlesome Moth
- Whiskey Cake
I see many happy weekends full of omelets, breakfast burritos, pancakes, and cinnamon rolls in the future. Wish me luck!
(and there will me plenty of running to ensure that I don’t balloon up from so much eating!)
